David asked me on Friday about how to access his network if he didn’t know his IP address.. you can use a Dynamic DNS service such as noip.com, register for a free account https://www.noip.com/remote-access – you then can have a domain name like “myname.noip.me” – then using an updater program on your PC it keeps the DNS record updated if your IP address changes – there are other services available (some free, some not) – DynDNS used to be the big one but hasn’t been free for a while, also some routers have support for services built in.
