‘Recapping’ a Radiogram

May 17 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Richard Shireby G0OFJ and Richard Chappell M7CHP will give a live demonstration on how to bring a dead radiogram back to life by replacing the capacitors that are likely to have failed. Richard will talk about how to select suitable values for obsolete components, whilst Mr Chippie works away with a solder station replacing all the capacitors in record time. They will be bringing one of the repairs from their workshop, so definitely not a Blue Peter case of ‘one we prepared earlier’.

We will also be getting the club FT-450D rig ready for FT8 operation at the GB19TB Cricket World Cup callsign that the club will activate at the Ancaster campsite on 6 June.

Doors open at 7:30 for the talk at 8pm. There will be a £2 charge (£1 for under 18s) to cover hall costs and refreshments.
